Kiely Williams of the now-defunct teenybopper singing group “3LW” (3 Little Women) and also of Disney’s The Cheetah Girls fame recently re-emerged to the music scene, all on her own and in a big way. Check out the video for her new single, “Spectacular”:

Oh really??

Is this what ‘tween idols do once they’re grown out of their viability over at Disney? You slut it up for the masses, not giving a damn about the little girls who are STILL watching you? Times are that hard, Ms. Williams? I guess your agent’s arms were too short to box with God ABC/Disney, so your buy-out wasn’t too sweet of a deal. Gotta pay for those wigs some way, huh?

In all seriousness, this is disgusting. I couldn’t even watch this entire video. From the very first scene, it reminded me of the opening sequence of an episode of “Law & Order: SVU” in which we get to see the last hours before some hard-drinkin’, indiscriminate “dating” victim is found sprawled out dead in an alley with half her head bashed in and the killer’s DNA under her nails. My daughter Tee, now 16, was a HUGE fan of The Cheetah Girls between the ages of about 9-13. She had read the books and loved them, so when Disney got the rights to make the TV movies, she was all over it and as a Mom, I thought the content was great for a little girl. The concepts self-esteem, sisterhood and girl power were emphasized a lot.

Now this. *smh*

Kiely made a video in reply to all the comments surrounding the utter triflingness of her video. Take a look:

Girl, bye. I see you. And for real, YOU don’t even believe the sh*t you’re saying here. You know this song and the video are nothing but pure trash and unbecoming of a young lady such as yourself who has worked so hard in the entertainment industry her entire life. I hate to tell you this, but your career is a wrap. You may have the Internet all a’buzz thanks to your raunchy video, but in this case, it is not in a good way. There is no way to come back from singing about what equates to date rape and dressing like you caught the Easter Sale at “Whores ‘R Us” in the video. Never underestimate the power of a concerned and attentive mommy and/or daddy. We remember everything. Your music and videos will never be allowed in my house, but at least we have The Cheetah Girl DVDs to remind us of the good ol’ days.
